The rarely seen Tony award winning musical Parade comes to Walsall’s Forest Arts Centre next week presented by the excellent Forest Arts Theatre Company
Parade, co-conceived by Harold Prince, is award winning musical set in the American Deep south in 1914. Daring and innovative, this musical is a heart-wrenching story offering a moral lesson about the dangers of prejudice and ignorance. A moving and powerful theatrical experience not to be missed.
With its soaring score, drawing on blues music, spirituals and hymns, it dramatizes the true events that followed the murder of a thirteen year old girl and the ensuing witch hunt that led to the arrest and trial of the Jewish factory manager, Leo Frank.
Parade has a bold willingness to dive into the complexities of early 20th Century social relationships in the American South with its sophisticated dark tale of endless depths.
The show marches into Forest Arts Centre in Walsall on Wednesday 28 – Saturday 31 Oct
