A first of its kind theatre conference to be held in the West Midlands will be bringing together the movers and shakers from the worldwide musical theatre community in November 2013.
Making Musical Theatre Connections

The unique event – entitled the Midlands Musical Theatre Conference ‘Making Connections’ – is being hosted by the Musical Theatre department of the University of Wolverhampton is calling upon composers, scriptwriters, lyricists, directors and producers to meet, discuss and hopefully create a new network to champion the promotion and production of new Musical Theatre in the UK.
This provides a wonderful opportunity for the theatre community from the West Midlands and across the UK to come together and help progress and shape Musical theatre in britain together.
The event will take place 9am until 5pm on 23 November at The Performance Hub, University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus, Magdalene Rd, WS1 3TA and is totally FREE

Guest Speaker Georgia Stitt
Speaking at the event will be the immensley multi-talented international theatre composer Georgia Stitt.
Georgia Stitt is at the forefront of new musical writing, with an incredible set of top notch musical theatre credentials to her name.
Georgia’s first break in musical theatre was in New York working as a jobbing pianist, conductor and eventually musical director on many of Broadways biggest musicals, such as Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, Sweet Smell of Success and the Seasame Street inspired parody Avenue Q amongst others.
She is also a mega popular voice coach, with her masterclasses always over subscribed.
However it is as a composer that moved Georgia Stitts towards international recognition, begining with her Musical THE WATER, then following on with even more highly acclaimed pieces such as BIG RED SUN, SING ME A HAPPY SONG and MOSAIC

Her albums containing an incredible library of original showtunes and wonderful compositions are often sung by the creme of the crop of the musical theatre world, including the likes of Matthew Morrison, Susan Egan, Brian d’Arcy James and dozens more.
Her musical credentials are equally recognised on screen as well as on stage, and has been the vocal coach on America’s Got Talent in 2008 and the weekly TV audition show – Grease: You’re The One That I Want, as well as on the production team of the brilliant TV Musical from Disney – Once Upon A Mattress
She also wrote two of the tracks – AT THE MALL and THE NEW YOU- for the MTV movie musical – AMERICAN MALL
