The RSC bring a 400 year old Jacobean play bang up to date, with a modern setting, pulsating music and gallons of blood, in the adulterous plot-twisting ‘The White Devil’ now playing at the Swan Theatre
John Webster’s ‘The White Devil’ is the intensely tragic and very violent story of the doomed Duke Bracciano’s illicit affair with the stunning Vittoria.
Fuelled by raw lust and electrifying passion their liaison spirals into corruption and violence, leading to accusation and ultimate obliteration.
Brilliantly directed by Maria Aberg, The White Devil plays at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, through until 29 November 2014
Please note this production contains violence and scenes of a sexual nature
