Highly Sprung are looking for three exceptional physical performers male and female, for their new production of Club Red.
Club Red is a new full length production produced specifically for audiences of young people. Written by Mark Worth, with input from award winning playwirght Chris O’Connell (Street Trilogy and co-director of Theatre Absolute). Club Red explores the story of three young people who’s night at Club Red leads to a journey of self discovery which tests friendships and asks questions of our understanding of ourselves and those we choose to give ourselves to.
Club Red will be presented as part of The Physical Fellowship, the UK’s only physical theatre festival for young people produced by Highly Sprung at The Birmingham REP and LOV, Lincolnshire.
All roles require strong skills in contemporary dance, contact work, excellent delivery of text and strong understanding of characterisation. Must have a playing age of 18 and previous experience of working in devised physical theatre and touring performance.
Low level aerial skills will be incorporated into the production so any existing aerial skills are preferable, although this will be taught as part of the rehearsal process.
Audition date: Thursday 28th August. Project fee: £1300
The audition will be run through a day of practical workshops, group tasks and individual performance opportunities. If invited to attend the audition you will be expected to learn and present a piece of text from the production.
