Trip The Light Theatre are returning to their roots, bringing their celebrated original production, The Sun Shining on Her Hands, to Birmingham, the city they trained and formed in.
On On Friday 11th and Saturday 12th March 2016 the atmospheric A.E. Harris will play host to the female-led company and their evocative physical theatre exploration of Georg Büchner’s Woyzeck.
Taking sidelined female character Marie as their focus, they grant her the space to tell her story, to be considered a person in her own right, to no longer be defined by men. By exploring Marie in all her complexity through contemporary dance, excerpts of Büchner’s original script and real-life accounts of gender discrimination, Trip The Light highlight ongoing societal issues and the urgent need to ensure women’s voices are heard.
Trip The Light Theatre are also hosting a post-show discussion after Friday’s performance so you can pick their brains about the piece, physical theatre and more!
Ticket prices: £11/£9 for students
